The word “search” was first recorded  in the 1400’s. “Search” was once a noun and still is but now we consider it as a verb more than a noun because it sounds like an action verb. “Search” was first recorded in the English language around 1901, but we used the word “search” in English before it became a popular word. A phrase it was once used in the English language was “search me” and meant like a verbal shrug.
